Obituary of Agnes E. Miller

Agnes E. Miller, 84, of Biglerville, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at the Gettysburg Lutheran Retirement Village. She was born in Bedford County, on June 23, 1928, daughter of the late Thomas and Melzie (Hull) Claar. Her husband, Paul E. Miller died March 27, 1991. Agnes was a member of Benders Lutheran Church in Biglerville, PA, had been employed by the former C. H. Musselman Co. for many years and before her retirement she spent several years at Glenn's Diner and Lincoln Diner as a waitress. She enjoyed her time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Agnes also enjoyed playing cards and bingo, and was a member of the Fairfield AmVets, Gettysburg Eagles Auxiliary and the Biglerville American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by her children; Audrey Sadler and husband Larry of Chambersburg, PA, Judy Raffensperger and Thresa Miller both of Biglerville, Jerry Miller and wife June of Biglerville and Terry Miller and wife Nancy of Gardners, 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren. Agnes was predeceased by a grandson, Eric Sharrah, great granddaughter, Kali Sadler and three brothers; Paul, Fred and Ralph Claar. Also surviving are a number on nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. from the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St. Gettysburg, with her Pastor, Rev. Susan McCarthy, officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg. A Viewing for Agnes will be held on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
